Inspiring Malaysia to Live Inspired Lives through free CPR Training

Inspiring others to live inspired lives all around the world has been the central purpose behind the Disque Foundation. When Dr. Karl “Fritz” Disque founded the organization, he made it with the mission of expanding healthcare education through technology to reach the underserved nationally and internationally.

Recently, Fritz coordinated with St. John’s Ambulance to speak and train residents of Malaysia about the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Fritz gave a presentation and provided hands-on training to about 80 faculty and students of the Malaysia University of Science and Technology, a world-class science and technology institution built upon the model of MIT.

Fritz and his team of five others used iPads to film the demonstration in an effort to inspire those who could not attend. The footage was shown to those unable to make the presentation and those who attended were encouraged to share the video to others throughout the country. The Disque Foundation faculty understands how influential healthcare technology can be in spreading important knowledge, such as life support training. Because of this, Fritz has made educating students about the importance of the techniques required to perform high-quality CPR a priority for the foundation.

The presentation also included vital material regarding things like out-of-hospital care, diseases specifically affecting Asia, and CPR and AED training methods and protocols.

Fritz and the team members who travelled to Malaysia are thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to help train others to save lives. These efforts remain representative of the core goals of the Disque Foundation – continuing to spread healthcare education and information around the world.
